a short college meeting was eld friday morning apr 12 in the physical lab pres carlock read a letter from dr drinker in regard to lehigh's representation at the peace conference to be held in new york next week dr drinker sug gested that the presidents of the four classes and the editor of the brown and white be appointed from the student body those go ing must leave monday evening and come back wednesday morn ing this will allow them to attend a university convention to be held tuesday april 16 at columbia university any others desiring to go must see or write to prof thornburg all cuts caused by this trip will be excused after several announcements in regard to musical association re hearsals and the preparation for the formation of a mercersburg club the meeting was adjourned mustard and cheese the twentieth annual production of tl'.e mustard and cheese dram atic association will be given next saturday april 20 in the grand opera house the material for both the cast and chorus is very good this year and everyone has been kept hard at work by coach donaldson who is the author of the play chat will be presented entitled all in a dormitory the pro duction promises to be one of the best the association has ever given tickets will be on sale thursday morning until further notice the date sex for the junior prom is friday may 3 the night before the first base ball game with lafayette at eas ton lehiglrs one run was made in the second inning sterner and klar sitij^iv'i after two men wtie out fol lowed by saltrey's failure to catch morsack's infield fly which rolled over to the right bleachers in the meantime sterner crossed the plate with the winning run with the exception of the seventh inning when klar was left on third tnere was no further opportunity to score st john had men on third base in three i'iterent innings but ach time steady work of pitchers and good fielding kept them from reach ing home the last inning was particularly exciting when after two were out b-ostly and wilvner occupied second and third base tressler was eoual to the occasion however and struck out harrison the ability of our two pitchers to mil hemsehes out of critical - up ations was the feature of the game the score : st john's * batter for mudd in ninth ratter for shaffer in ninth lehigh lehigh o t 000000 x — 1 st john's 00000000 a — 1 i he base ball team won another victory on saturday defeating st john's college by the score 1-0 as in the albright game our oppo nents secured the large number of hits but the steadiness of hesse and tressler at critical times com bined with good support prevented them from scoring continued on fourth pa ! c the pottsville trip of the musical clubs was a great success in every way the men left bethlehem at two o'clock saturday afternoon reaching pottsville about five a committee from the high school under whose auspices the concert was held met the train and took the fellows around to different private bouses where they were entertained during their stay the concert was well attended „ a very appreciative audience there being at least three times the crowd that supported the concert at south bethlehem it was over at ten and was followed r>v a delightful dance from ten to twelve the towns people were extremely cordial and saw to it that the fellows met all of the many pretty girls the evening passed very quickly and everyone had a most enjoyable time until midnight brought an end to the festivities which was mark ed by many fond farewells sev eral of the fellows went to church the next morning not alone and the crowd left at four thirty siim day afternoon with a trail of brok en hearts behind them between the halves of the con cert a w lawson 07 in behalf of the pottsville men at lehigh pre sented the high school with one of the large engravings of the campus he made a masterly presentation address and the picture was accept ed by prof strohmeyer of the hip'h school the following program was ren dered by the clubs : part i selection from spring chicken mandolin club little cotton dolly glee club dushka .
