first vice president arthur frick ; second vice president paul a degener ; secretary jesse b hirst treasurer alfred r glancy ; executive committee paul gerhard john w hertzler hugh g vander veer arthur peck john r reigart 1902 epitome the board of editors of the 1902 epitome have been taking the pre liminary steps necessary to bring out a first-class annual this year but they have so far been very much hampered in their work by the apparent lack of interest taken by the undergraduates in general in the work now it is supposed that all the men in college know that the epitome although edited by the junior class is distinctly a col lege annual and not merely a class book and its success depends to a great extent upon the interest the men of all four of the classes take in it there seems to be lots of col lege spirit floating around loose this year ; why can't the men who show it turn some of their attention towards the epitome there are men in college who can write ; there are men in college who can draw ; in fact we have the ability here this year to turn out the best book that has yet represented le high if only those who possess this ability are willing to do their share there are prizes offered for the best drawings and the best literary work and they are prizes worth having too there will be a gag box placed in packer hall in a day or so and if any one has any new or unique features to suggest the board will be only too glad to re ceive them in fact there are in numerable small things which go to make up a successful annual and which it is impossible to get hold of unless every one does his utmost to help the thing along the truth is that if the college helps the editors they can get out a first-class book but without that help it will be next to an impossi bility therefore let every man wake up think what he can do to help along and then do it and we will have a book this year that will compare favorably with any in the country president wheeler has insti tuted an innovation at the univer sity of california in calling frequent student meetings in order that he may speak to them on matters con cerning the university and come in closer touch with the student body change of address students must in all cases give immediate notice to the president's secretary of any change of address from that recorded on their rep-is tration cards the annual rush between the under classes of cornell university was held on tuesday october 30 each class chooses three teams of fifteen men each and three bouts are held at the start five men of each team hold the banner and the other ten plunge in at the signal this year's rush was won by 1903 by a score of 23 to 19 the university of santiago the head cf the educational system of chili has from 1,200 to 1,500 stu dents and the professional studies are well kept up and well attended lehigh university south bethlehem pa thursday november 8 1900 the brown and white no 13 absence limits for term sept 1900 feb 1901 vol vih calendar notices thursday november 8 at 7.15 p m — meeting of the forum de tating society in saucon hall at 7.15 p.m orchestra re hearsal in christmas hall at 7.30 p.m mandolin club rehearsal in the gymnasium at 7.30 p.m — minstrel show rehearsal for chorus and end men in the gymnasium saturday november 10 foot ball haverfod vs lehigh at haver ford sunday november n at 9.30 a m bible study class in christ mas hall at 2.30 p m glee club re hearsal in the gymnasium at 3.30 p.m mandolin club rehearsal in the gymnasium at 6.15 p m meeting of the christian association in christ mas hall wednesday november 14 at 2 p m — re examination in entrance french and german at 7.30 p.m — rehearsal of the glee club in the gymnasium minstrel show the management of the minstrel association will hold a rehearsal for chorus and end men on thurs day evening at 7.30 o'clock in the gymnasium all men who have any talent in this line are urged to attend this rehearsal
