reunion which should occur this june and after writing several men in the class who should know what preparations are being made i can not help but infer that nothing yet has been done the time is not far off and whatever is done should be under way will any members of 98 enlighten the writer if they know of arrange ments in progress for our three year reunion ? signed u lehigh,2o west point 6 lehigh completely outclassed the army cadet base ball team at west point on saturday beating them by the score of 20 to 6 and thus partially retrieving her defeat and shut-out at the hands of yale on the previous wednesday the lehigh team had rested in new york on thursday as per sched ule and had been obliged to lay off friday as well the rain postponing the game scheduled to be played with manhattan and consequently took a store of bottled-up energy with them to the game at west point that stood them in good stead at the bat and such batting as they did would have done good to lehigh eyes twenty-five hits were knocked out by the brown and white including two home runs three three-base hits and two two-baggers the boys were treated splendidly at west point and are full of praise for the sportsmanlike conduct of the cadets the game was watched by a crowd of ful^y fifteen hundred people the features of the game from a lehigh standpoint were the pitching of sellers the batting of person eisenhart lilley and sel lers and the fielding of taylor in the outfield sellers struck out twelve men and person especially batted like a fiend out of six times at bat the latter made five safe hits including a home run and two three-baggers a total of twelve bases sellers made three timely hits one of them a home run with the bases filled and lilley and eisenhart each strengthened his batting average with four hits out of six times at bat the game started with the west pointers in the field and the first seven men up for lehigh hit safely parsons led off with a single and was followed by eisenhart and then lilley parsons going home eisenhart was thrown out at third as he attempted to move up on a wild throw person singled and taylor sent him home after lilley with a three-bagger reese sent taylor home with a hit good for two bases alden singled but was thrown out trying to reach second on the hit and de schweinitz struck out the cadets were retired with out a run in the second we got two runs on parsons's base on balls eisen hart's single and person's three bagger taylor was the third out on a fly to right the cadets went out in order cooper being caught by sellers between first and second in the third lehigh added one more run to the score by de schweinitz's hit followed by sellers's two bagger the latter was thrown out on the return of the ball making the third out in this inning two cadets struck out and the third flew out to taylor neither side scored in the fourth lehigh scored a tally in the fifth off person's home run we got two more in the sixth by successive singles by parsons eisenharr lil ley and person the cadets made two runs by a single a three-bag ger and a single in the seventh ten men batted for lehigh bringing in five runs sellers home run brought in reese and deschweinitz ahead of him and an error and two hits scored parsons and eisenhart the cadets scored two unearned runs in this inning we added five more runs in the eighth on four singles a three bagger and three gifts of first base lehigh went out in order in the ninth while the cadets made two runs off of five hits lehigh is now at home for games with state college bucknell and pennsylvania this week and monday of next followed by the first lafayette game the wednesday of next week it is of the utmost importance that lehigh gets in the best possible shape for this la fayette game and for this sub stantial encouragement of the team is absolutely necessary the man agement hopes that good crowds will turn out for the state buck nell and v of p games and those who desire to see lehigh win the series of games with lafayette this year as last year should certainly turn out the score lehigh continued on second tag lacrosse lehigh 5 cornell 2 on saturday may n the la crosse team met the team from ithaca and won very handily by the above score although the day was far from being a pleasant one a large crowd turned out to seethe game and in spite of the rain which started in just before play began they were treated to one of the best exhibitions of lacrosse that has been given here this season both teams were very much handicapped by the slipperiness of the field but still the game was replete with fast sharp play and clever passing lehigh undoubtedly surpassed < cornell in team work but other wise both sides were about evenly matched woods dodge and kelly for cornell played the best game the former •■." ese in spite of a cracked ] lich he received in the cor ennsyl vania game on may io handled himself exceptionally well and quite captured the grand stand by his quick clever work in close quarters for the home team lattig and symington deserve espe cial mention although but little fault can be found with any of the team one twenty-five minute and one fifteen-minute half were played during the first lehigh scored four goals and cornell one young threw the first after eight minutes of play and lattig followed with another in three minutes for the the next ten minutes no scoring was done young tried a hard throw for goal but it went wide dodge threw cornell's first goal after a difficult catch with but three minutes to play symington threw two goals in quick succes sion the second just a half-minute before time was called the second half opened up with aggressive work by cornell which resulted in skelly's throwing
