monday may 20 at 4.00 p.m base ball practice at 4.00 p.m — lacrosse practice at 4.00 p.m track team practice tuesday may 21 — at 4.0 b p.m base ball practice at 4.00 p.m — lacrosse practice at 4.00 p.m track team practice wednesday may 22 — at 3.00 p m base ball lehigh vs la fayette at easton at 6.45 p.m bible study class in christmas hall thursday may 23 at 4.00 p.m base ball practice at 4.00 p.m lacrosse prac tice at 2.30 p.m — track team practice saturday may 25 — at 3.00 p.m base ball lehigh vs fordham college at new york at 3.00 p.m — lacrosse lehigh vs stephens at hoboken notice will close june i the quantitative and organic laboratories will be closed for the term saturday june i 1901 campus notes a college meeting was held ov the terrace in front of packer hall last friday for the purpose of hear ing suggestions and arousing en thusiasm for the ball game with lafayette on wednesday it was decided for every fellow to wear a white shirt with a brown necktie to the game a piece of brown rib bon tied up will do the aglaia club of bishop thorpe school gave an enjoyable dance saturday night at which many lehigh men were present _ — -^_«^» — ,—, — base ball lehigh suffered her second de feat of the week on saturday in a slow discouraging game the cold damp wind which blew over lehigh field seemed to extinguish all enthusiasm both in the players and spectators and several times a chance to win was allowed to pass without any result by the home team captain parsons at third again showed his unfitness for his position by his erratic throw ing and as a consequence there are rumors in the air of an early change in the arrangement of the infield sellers pitched his usual good game and exhibited the ex cellent judgment which has so often made his efforts successful but his support was ragged beyond excuse there was however an occasional feature which proved that the team had not altogether gone to the bad two well placed three baggers by eisenhart and de schweinitz and a heartrending catch by the former of what was apparently a base hit to left field were the bright points and lilley batted well and consistently buck nell played only a moderate game and would have occasioned no trouble for lehigh had the home team been up to form hess pitched an easy ball to hit but had splendid control and used his head well at critical points the most exciting situation of the game occurred in the sixth in ning when with two men out and two on bases person stepped to the bad in response to the usual cry of " home run he placed two beautiful drives over the right field fence but both were foul — one by about ten feet and the second miss ing the whitewashed line by barely a foot had either of these drives been fair lehigh would have been victorious the score bucknell continued on fourth page the lacrosse team went over to new york on friday and lost on friday to stevens institute and on saturday to crescent athletic club yet are deserving of considerable praise for clever playing and a marked improvement in team work over their last performances on the home grounds the game with stevens on the st george cricket ground hoboken was interesting and closely contested throughout stevens winning 3to 2 the re sult was indeterminable until the last and it looked like a victory for lehigh more than once this game was witnessed by a large crowd and was well-played by almost every man stevens got the ball directly after the first draw and scott threw the first goal after ten minutes play just before the end of the first half symington threw a goal for lehigh making the score one all the second half was hotly con tested and johnson scored twice for stevens while young threw one goal for lehigh score stevens 3 ;
