the freshman caught the wary sophomores napping last monday night and held their banquet at the hotel allen in allentown with out much opposition the sopho mores made their presence known by throwing some chemicals through one of the windows but this did not daunt the jubilant freshmen they had come with the intention of enjoying them selves and they were going to carry out their plan at any cost at 9 80 o'clock the freshmen were ushered into the large ban quet hall on the second floor and seated themselves forty-one in all around the table besides the guests of the evening the following mem bers of the junior class were pres ent g e jackson j w grace and p g l hilken the menu served by the genial proprietor of the allen was as follows : menu blue points on shell sherry eadishes celery tomatoes consomme poulette en demi tasse halibut steak sauce tartare pomme de terre vibaud st julien broiled quail asparagus frozen punch diamond back terrapin mayonnaise of celery mu ram's extra neapolitan cream cakes roquefort crackers coffee cigars cigarettes president higgins acted as toast master and officiated in a very happy manner he introduced g e jackson who as president of the junior class extended greet ings to the freshmen class j w grace followed with a few well chosen remarks on college spir it the toast the class of 1901 was handled in a very pleas ing and able manner by c evans e f mussel man being absent the toast " football was responded to by f a armstrong the last speaker on the program was f d viehe who told his tale of woe in " my experience with the sophs and so with songs and jokes the evening was passed at 1 o'clock the banquet broke up with a hearty lehigh yell the committee to whom all the credit is due for the success of the banquet consisted of c a emer son e t murphy and c w evans freshman class meet ing 1901 held a special class meeting on monday nov 8 the object of the meeting was to discuss the ar rangements for the class banquet eemarks were made by the presi dent urging all to come out the banquet committee submitted re port as to what had been accom plished and there being no further business before the class the meet ing adjourned banjo club a meeting of the banjo club was held at the psi u house on tues day evening owing to the fact that a large number of the mem bers of the club will not be in town during thanksgiving vaca tion it was decided not to enter the competitive concert to be held at that time in allentown new honor system for lehigh university constitution governing the system article i section 1 — the administration of the honor system shall be con trolled by two bodies known as the secret committee and the honor court sec 2 — the members of this secret court committee shall con sist of one 1 man from each class to be secretly appointed by the president of the honor court and they shall be pledged to secrecy by said president and known to no one but the above said president sec 3 — the honor court shall consist of ten 10 students ; the four 4 vice presidents ; two 2 men from each of the upper classes and one man from each of the lower classes to be elected by their respective classes article 11 sec 1 — the duties of the secret committee shall be to register the number of charges of fraud against individuals and evidence of said charges and also to present after four 4 different charges of fraud the evidence in writing before the honor court this secret commit tee is to warn the offender imme diately after the second charge the object of the aforesaid warn ing is simply to caution the man lest he be brought before the honor court sec 2 — the object of the honor court shall be to try cases of fraud in university work namely exam inations recitations and all writ ten work and to impose punish ment as they see fit sec 3 — the duty of the student body shall be : first the students shall agree to the pledge we the students of lehigh university do hereby pledge ourselves on our honor to abstain fiom all fraud in university work secondly in accepting this system we the stu dents of lehigh university do agree to send in a written state ment to the secret committee stating the facts of fraud noticed in university work and signed by the writer's full name it to be understood that correspondence between accuser and secret com mittee is to be kept entirely secret and under no circumstances is the name of the accuser to be divulged to any but the president of the honor court article 111 section 1 — any member of the university noticing fraud in any manner has the privilege of bring ing his case directly before the honor court but will be required to submit his evidence in person class officers explanation how a charge is to be made to the secret committe : a person continued on second page forum the forum will hold its regular meeting on friday nov 12 at 7 p m in saucon hall the exer cises will consist of a debate on the subject eesolved that savage nations have a right to the soil ;
