n y univ 3 the home team easily defeated new york university on saturday by the above score the game was one of no exceptional interest the chief feature being white's pitching the visitors not getting a hit until the seventh inning aside from a little slowness on the bases the entire lehigh team played well lambert opened the first inning with a hot grounder to short which e grace fielded nicely but j w grace dropped the throw to first the next two men got bases on balls lambert scoring on a passed ball by carman white steadied up and struck out keane and northrop and pomeroy threw hatch out at first for lehigh pomeroy reached first on a short hit e grace hit a grounder and both runners were safe on an attempted double play carman got a base on balls and with the bases full j w grace made a three-base hit james bunted safely and j grace scored keed hit the ball to lambert who touched james out going to third ;
