              the senior electricals will leave bethlehem on friday evening on their annual visit to niagara falls saturday will be spent at ithaca where the men will be given an opportunity to witness the lehigh cornell baseball game in the after noon in the evening the party will start for the falls intending to spend a holiday there on sun day monday and tuesday will be devoted to visits of inspection to the plants of the cataract con struction company the carborun dum company the cliff paper mills the pittsburg reduction company the niagara power com pany the carbide company and the electric railway company on wednesday an examination of tlte transmission line to buffalo and of the receiving machinery in that place will be made the party expects to return home early thursday morning april 28 baseball the baseball team leaves friday evening - for ithaca where they play cornell saturday as yet it is impossible to give the names of the players who will be taken but the team will be made up of eleven players the coach and manager fourteen men are at the training table which is at the hotel wy andotte where they will be joined next week by the first lacrosse squad carman and white will in all probability be the battery though white may not pitch the whole game since returning from the southern trip he has been troubled with a cold and for the past few days has been confined to his room rodney showed excellent form and judgment in the game on wednesday and if he is able to keep the pace should make a val uable substitute spiers has been under the weather ever since the southern trip but will be in good shape in a few days the team has been playing good ball and certainly deserves the support of the college line-up of harvard la crosse team goal — howland 98 first year at the game pomt — sands 3l fourth year of the game and has played on the harvard team since its reorganiza tion four years ago coverpoint — woods,'9b fourth year on team first defence — dearborn 98 played on the team two years ago but not last year second defence — curley il some little experience at the game before coming to harvard ; first year on team third defence — purington 7 99 first year on team and at game centre — breed im second year at game and on harvard team third attack — hardy 01 first year at game outside king 98 captain third year on team second attack — brookmgs 3l second year on team first attack taylor 99 third year on team inside — fay 00 first year at game substitute locke ig exper ience in canada baseball lehigh v ursinus 2 owing to the late announcement of the game the attendance was very small wednesday afternoon when lehigh defeated ursinus by the above score several changes were tried in the makeup of the team and worked very well show ing that we have good material to fall back upon in case of necessity with a few exceptions the game was very well played but in batting we were rather weak perhaps the most surprising feature of the game was rodney's pitching he had plenty of speed good control and used excellent head work in the eighth inning with a man on third base and one on second and no one out he struck out three men in succession but three hits were made off his delivery and these were distributed through as many innings car man's base throwing was the pret tiest seen here for a long time after three men had been thrown out at second and one at third ursinus made no more attempts to steal hollingsworth handled the thrown balls beautifully besides fielding his position without an error if he keeps up his present form he will be certain of his place at second base all season ursinus made both of her runs in the fifth inning laros flied out to j grace koth got to firet on balls and miller flied out to james with two men out gausch made a three-base hit scor ing roth yandegriff followed with a two base hit sending gausch in with an earned run kughler went to first on balls but kichen defer retired the side by flying out to reed lehigh scored two runs in the first inning on carman's being hit by the pitcher an error by heiges and a single by j grace in the second we got four runs on another error by heiges two bases on balls three stolen bases and a two-base hit by j grace four runs were made in the third inning on a double by carman singles by b grace and hollings worth and two errors by miller after the third lehigh succeeded in scoring but once more and that was in the sixth inning when we got an earned run on a single and two stolen bases by carman and a single by j grace the score is as follows : musical organiza tions both the glee and mandolin clubs have resumed work alter the easter holidays and all indications point to a complete success for the corning concert the glee club has two rehearsals every week and the number will probably be in creased to three in order to pro vide sufficient practice for the members the mandolin club has a number of bright catchy selections which cannot fail to take well ;
