lacrosse lehigh 3 ; crescent 3 the afternoon was clear and cool and but for the ground being a little damp and slippery from the rain of the night before the conditions were perfect for a la crosse game the attendance was good considering that a baseball game was in progress at that time at the eittersville grounds dur ing the early part of the game the ball was continually in crescent's lehigh's attack weakened somewhat and the crescent defense seemed to recognize the fact that they must be astir if they wished to score along with this came an increased vigor in the playing with the ball more at lehigh's end of the field until in the latter part of the second half the playing was furious the game from beginning to end and especially in the first part was a very pretty exhibition of lacrosse the crescents although not doing so much team work as lehigh played a strong game ; using much the same style of play with the exception of the way in which they shot goals they ap parently tried to get the ball close in front of the goal and then knock it through in the scrimmage as lehigh did last year the ball was faced off for the first half at 4 14 o'clock with le high defending the east goal it was very prettily passed down into crescent territory and a number of shots were made ; the lehigh attack by splendid passing and dodging keeping the ball around the crescent's goal continually this lasted for about five minutes when baldwin getting the ball made a quick pass to merriman who ran in a little and shot an easy goal score : lehigh 1 ; crescents 0 play was resumed shortly and the same performance repeated with everything our own way once the ball went down the field and a poor shot was made at our goal it was soon returned and after a trial by koundey merriman passed the ball to baldwin who from almost di rectly in front of the posts threw a pretty ground goal time 9 minutes score lehigh 2 ; cres cents 0 the ball now advanced towards lehigh's goal but miller secured it in a scrimmage and by a long throw placed the goal out of danger the playing now became very general for some time the ball going rap idly up and down the field and finally getting very near the ores cents goal here the playing was continued on second page princeton is going to have a new library building which will cost between 300,000 and 400 000 the new
