97 electricals o the sophomore class champion ship was decided last wednesday afternoon in an exciting game ot two fifteen minute halves the civils scored one touchdown in each half from which the senior kicked the goals for the civils senior played a strong game while the best work for the electricals was done by van duyne and scott the touchdowns were made by saunders and senior 96 civils vs 96 metallurgists the above teams engaged in a very close and interesting contest often minute halves on friday after noon in the first half mason se cured the ball on a kick and made a touchdown for the metallurgists in the second half the civils kept the ball in the enemy's territory and through good work by klein mc donald and reid forced the ball to within 2 yards of the goal line but were unable to score before time was called releree — j thurston 96 umpire graff 96 score 6-0 chi phi 12 ; delta phi o the chi phi's beat the delta phi's 12 to 0 on saturday after noon in two fifteen minute halves the athletic grounds were very muddy and the teams looked like coal miners after the game in the first half bartles and chapman scored touchdowns while in the second half gibson scored the third and last the ball was so slippery that no goals were kicked the first article was • carried by a large majority and all the others unanimously no amendments were offered and on motion of cook 95 the constitution as a whole was unanimously adopted on motion of f a mckenzie , the president was directed to appdi'riv a committee to call upon the faculty for the purpose of obtaining their permission for the ; o,rganizasi©ij of the proposed court and the presi dents of the respective classes were ordered to call ' class meetings within one week after the court has received the sanction of the faculty for the purpose of electing their representatives on the court the committee was then ordered discharged with the thanks off the university for its work ; the meeting was well attended and its action undoubtedly represents the wishes of the undergraduates of the university . massey 95 as athletic represen tative then took the chair and read the proposed amendment to the constitution of the athletic associ ation as published in the last issue of the brown and white thompson 94 then offered the fol lowing substitute : section 1 the assistant man ager of any athletic team shall suc ceed to the managership of that team the following year if he be approved by the said team sec 2 if the assistant manager of any athletic team shall be disap proved by the said team he shall stand nominated for the manager ship and the college shall have the final choice the result of the vote on this substitute was 49 in favor and 37 against and having less than the requisite two-thirds vote it was not adopted 4fr at a meeting of the classical club held in dr hyde's office on thurs day interesting papers were read by cressman jacoby and kaiitz adee caught harrison's kick and passed the ball to butterworth who kicked it 50 yards harrison caught and punted 0 yards 10 mills who was downed in his tracks by okeson the ball was on yale's 2-vya:d line so butter worth punted lebigii los-t the ball on four downs okeson caught mills before he had gone a yard hickok then ran lj yards and armstrong curried it 5 more to t lit 5-yard line mills took it over time 7 minutes score yale 26 lehigh 0 harrison and butterworth ex changed several kicks and finally yale got it on a fumble in the mid dle ol the field mills hickok and butterworth each made short gains then mills went 25 yards but okeson caught him on our 6 yard line buiterworth could not gain then mills made 4-yards but lehigh got the ball for holding by murphy holderness kicked 10 yards to but terworih who earned the ball 12 yards before being downed arm strong went through tackle for three more and then mills made the last touchdown for this half from which hickok kicked an easy goal time 5 minutes score yale 3z lei.igtio in the second half lehigh played a better game and yale could score only three touchdowns saltzman took holderness place and arm strong replaced adve jerrams go ing to left halt harrison and butterworth exchanged kicks then van duyne gained 2 yards and barnard one mills fumbled harrison's punt and dick fell on it but quickly regained his feet and ran 30 yards for a touchdown but the referee would not allow it so the ball was brought back harrison and barnard each made short gains but harrison was again compelled to kick mills caught the ball but saltzman grabbed him before he could gain the ball then changed hands several times and finally yale worked it to within 10 yards of a touchdown only to lose it on four downs harrison kicked 25 yards yale then worked to within 2 yards of our goal and mills carried the ball over just twelve minutes after the half had begun hickok kick ed the goal score : yale 38 lehigh 0 hatch got the ball on the kick off and made 5 yards then but terworth went 40 yards around right end this was the longest run of the day yale then worked to our 5-yard line and butterworth dashed over hickok kicked the goal score : yale 44 lehigh 0 five minutes later armstrong blocked a kick on lehigh's 10-yard line murphy got the ball and made the last touchdown score yale 50 lehigh 0 when time was called lehigh had the ball in the middle of the field the teams lined up as follows lehigh yale best left end hatch di o ck ston 1 left tackle stur s is football yale 50 ;
