some of his own life and magnet ism into the team the base-running was slow and stupid and many bright chances for scoring were lost by weakness in this respect the fielding of the team at first was very poor but after the nervousness wore off a material improvement was notice able,and the benefit of the southern games came to the surface it was in their batting that the effect of recent practice was most noticeable however earely has a lehigh team done such hard consecutive hitting as that of yesterday nearly every man on the team distin guished himself in this respect lehigh will win on saturday with such batting goss caught well but was off in li is throwing to second bowie pitched in good form and was the only lehigh player who did any coaching thompson made a pretty catch of a ground and in the eighth and ninth caused virginia much uneasiness the lead obtained by u of va in the fourth was however too great to be overcome and lehigh was again compelled to accept defeat lehigh 9 trinity 7 on friday april 12 lehigh was victorious by the above score in this game a great improvement was noticed in both fielding and batting lehigh's outfield being veiy quick and
