or by ten 10 members sec 3 — there shall be held an annual meeting of the executive committee of this association on the first saturday of the fall term to provide for the collection of money for the ensuing year article 6 — amendments amendments to this constitution may be considered at any meeting but they must be posted on the bulletin board at least one week before such meeting is held they shall be adopted if three-fourths of the total number of members con cur in the affirmative article 7 — enactment this constitution shall take effect immediately by-laws article 1 — membership section 1 — every member of the university shall be considered a member of this association and will be expected to subscribe for the maintenance of the same sec 2 ' \ annual dues of this association shall be 5 payable to authorized collectors of this asso ciation article 2 sec 1 — the officers of this as sociation for the ensuing year shall be elected before the first day of june in each year by their respec tive classes but the treasurer by the executive committee sec 2 — each athletic team shall elect its own captain subject to the approval of the executive commit tee and shall make three nomina tions for managers and assistant managers who shall be elected by the college at the close of each athletic season sec 3 — the alumni members of the executive committee shall be originally elected by the mem bers of the association but shall thereafter themselves fill any va cancies that may occur in their own body sec 4 — vacancies in this com mittee shall be filled immediately according to the sections of this article article 3 — powers of officers sec 1 — the president's duties are as herein before prescribed with the addition that he shall ap point all marshals and the audit ing committee sec 2 — it shall be the duty of a captain to select his team en tirely from active members of the university and he shall be held responsible for it sec 3 — the auditing commit tee shall consist of three members appointed by the president from the executive committee it shall audit all accounts of the treasurer and of the managers of the various teams and shall present a report in constitution and by-laws of the lehigh university athletic assoc'n preamble to encourage and maintain the steady development in all branches of athletics at our alma mater and to provide for the necessary laws the members of the lehigh uni versity do ordain and enact the following constitution and by laws article 1 — name and object section 1 — this organization shall be known as the lehigh uni versity athletic association sec 2 — the object of this asso ciation shall be to encourage and support athletic sports in the uni versity and to raise our rank in intercollegiate contests article 2 — membership sec 1 — any student or graduate of the university shall be eligible to this association subject to the requirements of this constitution and of the by-laws « article 3 — officer sec 1 — the powers of this as sociation shall be vested in an executive committee which shall consist of four 4 alumni residents in the bethlehems of the director of the gymnasium ex-ofncio of the captains of the various athletic teams which are now or may be hereafter represented thereon of four 4 undergraduate members one each from the four undergrad uate classes and at the discretion of the kxecutive committee of one member from the post senior class the member from the freshman class shall have no vote sec 2 — the member of the executive committee from the senior class shall be president of the association and chairman of the executive committee the member of the executive commit tee from the junior class shall be secretary of the association sec 3 — the executive com mittee shall have power to frame rules subject to the approval of the association governing the conduct of all track and field sports article 4 sec 1 — the executive com mittee shall have power to remove from office any officer of the ath letic association or of any athletic team by a three fourths vote of all its members article 5 meetings sec 1 there shall be held an annual meeting of the association on the first friday in june of each year sec 2 — special meetings may be called at any time by the presi dollars for the first term and three dollars for the second term pay able to authorized collectors of this association who shall give stub receipts with coupon attachments admitting holders to any game during the first term for a two dollar subscription and to any two games during the second term for a three dollar subscription akticle 3 — powers of officers sec 1 — strike out and the auditing committee and insert and shall issue at the beginning of each college year printed admis sion tickets containing his signature these tickets shall be sold as he shall direct admission to the athletic grounds shall be only by tickets which may be obtained at the gate or elsewhere sec 3 change to read the auditing committee shall consist of five members one resident alumnis appointed by the president of the alumni association and one from each of the four classes who shall be elected by their respective classes simultaneously with their other class officers except the freshman representative who shall be elected between thanksgiving and the end of the first term none of these shall hold any other office under the association it shall audit all accounts of the treasurer and of the managers of the various teams and shall post at the close of each term in packer hall a list by classes of paid subscriptions as shown by stubs of collectors receipt books they shall present a report in writing at the end of each term embodying all these accounts sec 7 — new section the au ditors of this association for the current college year shall be elected by their respective classes within one month after the passage of these amendments writing at the annual meeting in june of each year embodying all these accounts sec 4 — the treasurer shall take charge of all funds and disburse the same as authorized by the execu tive committee he shall render to the auditing committe an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures within a week prior to the annual meeting of the asso ciation in june and at such other times as the executive committee may direct he shall give a receipt for all moneys received by him but shall not act as collector for the association sec 5 — the director of the gymnasium shall keep the archives of the association and all the books of the same during the vacation sec 6 — each manager shall have charge of all expenditures of the team not herein provided for he shall render to the chairman of the auditing committee bi-weekly statements of all receipts expenses and debts incurred and at such times turn over to the treasurer all moneys received by him from col lections donations and guarantees and gate receipts and within ten days of the end of the season shall render a final account he shall with the advice of the captain ar range all matches provide umpires and referees when needed provide all balls bats and other parapher nalia used in playing as authorized by the executive committee article 4 — meetings section 1 — at any meeting the order of business shall be 1st roll call 2nd reading of the minutes of the last meeting 3rd reports 4th unfinished business 5th new business 6th adjournment sec 2 — a quorum necessary to transact business shall be that number of members equal to half the total membership a smaller number may adjourn the meeting to a stated time and place sec 3 — all points of order not herein provided for shall be decided according to u roberts rules of order article 5 — delegates delegates to represent the asso ciation on any occasion shall be appointed by the evecutive com mittee article 6 — amendments these by-laws may be amended if two-thirds of the number oi mem bers present concur in the affirma tive
