average starting salaries of 255 a month for graduates with bache lors degrees are about the same as for last year with chemical and petroleum companies offering the highest salaries for graduates with mas ters degrees the average will be about 320 a month and for those with engineering doctorates 445 in the engineering colleges em ploying teachers and research workers 390 will be the average starting salary for graduates with doctors degrees organizations reporting these figures include 144 industrial com panies 23 government agencies and 64 engineering schools which are currently employing 91,400 en gineering graduates vincent lopez anld orchestra will be the feature attraction to morrow night in grace hall as the junior class sponsors its annual prom this year the prom has director music festival prices campus church groups to join for vesper service sunday this vesper service is an attempt to start a college-level ecumenical movement level on the campus purpose of this movement is to fur eight religious organizations on lehigh campus will combine to present an interdenominational vesper service in packer memorial church at 7 p.m sunday march 26 keystone cops have no ralph towne ch.e 52 nega tive robert f taylor arts 52 and larry collins e p 52 stafford a novice after winning a berth on the varsity has participated in more debates then any other man on the team this year he has a total of 250 points second only to president phil howse jon hopkins debate coach ex pressed hope that the team will duplicate or better the showing it made in the brooklyn college de bate where it won eight of six teen debates film depicting trial of nazis to be shown debate and the first showing of the documentary film the nu remberg trails will be the sixth program of the lehigh valley branch of the foreign policy as sociation at 8 p.m today in pack ard auditorium recently released for public showing the fikn is a documentary record of the nazi criminals their crimes and the trials at nurem berg this picture has 1 been recog nized by government officials as the most complete film record of the subject to date it incorporates scenes from newsreels and from captured nazi films with actual pictures of the trials it features the opening remarks and further interrogations by justice robert jackson who referred to the trials as the greatest landmark of jus tice in all recorded history dr eugene h miller professor of political science at ursinus college will up hold the affirma tive side of the question during the debate his platform opponent will be dr samuel m hesson pro fessor of law at albany law school albany n y dr miller member of the ursinus college faculty since 1935 has done research work in political science in canada argentna bra zil and chile on 30 per cent according to predictions by leading industrial con cerns government and state agencies and engineering colleges this information was made known in a recent study of 1950 employment programs conducted by the general survey committee of engineers joint council engineering colleges polled concerning teaching and research posi tions available report a probable drop of 44 per cent from last year's employment figure the survey also indicates a decrease of 28 per cent in employment by industrial companies and of 33 per cent by government agencies only chemical companies of the large industrial groups do not expect a decline in employment a decrease of only 5 per cent from 1949 is expected in the chem ical engineering field wheras esti mated employment decreases in the other enginering fields are all about 30 per cent graduates in physical science also face reduced employment op portunities according to the sur vey polled organizations employ ing such graduates expect a
