graduated from lehigh univer sity with the degree of e m in 1908 and received the degree of m s in 1911 he is head of the department of mining en gineering at west virginia his father was once pastor of wesley m e church in this city vote to abolish semi-annua social affairs by large majority at a meeting of the faculty on monday afternoon it was de cided to drop two students from the university for cheating in one hour quizzes besides this action there were other import ant matters discussed among which was the question of house parties for next year the faculty voted on and car ried by a rather large majority the motion that there be no house parties for next year house parties were on trial this year and this decision of ihe faculty is a direct result of the spring social affairs house parties were not banned per manently from the university but only for next year the mat ter will be taken up next year again to decide for the follow ing year southern lacrosse league standing on may 19th if lehigli should defeat hopkins tomorrow and if maryland should conquer swartlimnrc lehigh and maryland would be tied for the cham plonship however as lehigh lias already downed maryland lehigh would 1 f )<• the best ti'nm in the southern league tomorrow afternoon coach o'neil's stick proteges will meet the strong hopkins lacrosse team at baltimore hopkins with three league victory notch es cut in their sticks will tackle the lehigh stickmen with every thing they have for much will be decided on the outcome of the game a win by the lehigh team will tie them with mary land for league honors while a victory for hopkins puts lehigh out of the running and mary land and hopkins will fight it out for the league champion ship swarthmore and perm fell easy victims to the balti more collegians attack and on last saturday hopkins scored a great triumph when she defeat ed the strong stevens team by the impressive score of 10-2 it will be remembered that the one defeat suffered by the lehigh team in the league was by the stevens team although the hopkins team was defeated by maryland 3-1 a team which le high defeated earlier in the sea son 3-0 the game tomorrow will probably furnish more op position to the lehigh stickmen than has been offered by any southern division team the doctors defeated perm by the score of 7 to 3 and lehigh blanked the quakers by a 5 to 0 score this comparison shows that lehigh's defense is strong er than that of the blue and black clad stickmen the practices this week have been very good and if the team continues to improve at the rate which it has of late lehigh should bring home a victory the game with perm last satur day showed what the lehigh team can do the stick work was much better than at any time since the maryland game and the defense was very good the method of attack was also improved as was shown sevearl times last saturday the lehigh mentor will have his squad primed for the game and a victory will send hopkins into discard and place the brown and white a step higher on the championship ladder coach o'neil will probably take the following men on the trip schwimmer gruhn mc kenzie springsteen abel buck mcßride of wesley m e church in this city vote to abolish semi-annua social affairs by large majority at a meeting of the faculty on monday afternoon it was de cided to drop two students from the university for cheating in one hour quizzes besides this action there were other import ant matters discussed among which was the question of house parties for next year the faculty voted on and car ried by a rather large majority the motion that there be no house parties for next year house parties were on trial this year and this decision of ihe faculty is a direct result of the spring social affairs house parties were not banned per manently from the university but only for next year the mat ter will be taken up next year again to decide for the follow ing year southern lacrosse league standing on may 19th if lehigli should defeat hopkins tomorrow and if maryland should conquer swartlimnrc lehigh and maryland would be tied for the cham plonship however as lehigh lias already downed maryland lehigh would 1 f )<• the best ti'nm in the southern league tomorrow afternoon coach o'neil's stick proteges will meet the strong hopkins lacrosse team at baltimore hopkins with three league victory notch es cut in their sticks will tackle the lehigh stickmen with every thing they have for much will be decided on the outcome of the game a win by the lehigh team will tie them with mary land for league honors while a victory for hopkins puts lehigh out of the running and mary land and hopkins will fight it out for the league champion ship swarthmore and perm fell easy victims to the balti more collegians attack and on last saturday hopkins scored a great triumph when she defeat ed the strong stevens team by the impressive score of 10-2 it will be remembered that the one defeat suffered by the lehigh team in the league was by the stevens team although the hopkins team was defeated by maryland 3-1 a team which le high defeated earlier in the sea son 3-0 the game tomorrow will probably furnish more op position to the lehigh stickmen than has been offered by any southern division team the doctors defeated perm by the score of 7 to 3 and lehigh blanked the quakers by a 5 to 0 score this comparison shows that lehigh's defense is strong er than that of the blue and black clad stickmen the practices this week have been very good and if the team continues to improve at the rate which it has of late lehigh should bring home a victory the game with perm last satur day showed what the lehigh team can do the stick work was much better than at any time since the maryland game and the defense was very good the method of attack was also improved as was shown sevearl times last saturday the lehigh mentor will have his squad primed for the game and a victory will send hopkins into discard and place the brown and white a step higher on the championship ladder coach o'neil will probably take the following men on the trip schwimmer gruhn mc kenzie springsteen abel buck mcßride
