the traditional lafayette weekend activities will be initiated fri day evening by the annual pep rally bonfire and pajama parade to the moravian girls dormitory the university marching band will begin the festivities by play ing school songs for the 7:30 pep rally in grace hall the rally to be led by prof john steckbeck will feature skits by the freshmen of richards 3a dravo b5 and richards 4 the skits were chosen from 13 entries with two professors two deans and a woman acting as judges the titles for these skits are the lehigh-lafayette football game the marquis de lafayette and the need for girls steckbeck will then introduce coach mike cooley who will in turn introduce members of the football team dr w deming lewis new president of lehgih will speak winners of the freshman song contest being judged this week will sing two numbers and the winner among the three skits will be announced maury poscover 66 vice president of cyanide will announce the newly-elected freshman class officers thirty-four members of the frosh cabinet will have voted among themselves for a leader after the weekend the frosh will rule themselves the band will play the alma mater then head for the upper field scene of the bonfire the bonfire constructed prim arily of the old education building statement the student governments | of lafayette college and lehigh university have re iterated in a joint statement | the principles of good con || duct for lafayette weekend v rodger digilio presi p dent of arcadia and john i hench president of lafay 1 ette's student government | affirm that no student year's drive was well ahead of last year's he also noted that funds are yet to be received from the wrestle-offs leonard hall won top priority seating for saturday's lafayette game by topping the list of cam pus chest donors for the second time leonard residents contributed 7.17 per man to finish comfort ably ahead of runners-up dravo d 3 5.38 and dravo c 4 5.c8 last year a per capita contribution of 5.80 was enough to win the prized seating for leonard the top-ranking fraternity kap pa alpha missed inclusion among the top 10 living groups by the thin edge of a dime dravo dl edged the broughal junior high school auditorium the play centers upon the refusal of thomas more chancellor to king henry viii to support or denounce the king's takeover of the english church after henry made himself head of the church he granted himself a divorce and remarried in an effort to produce an heir to his throne although more says nothing his actions imply that he feels the king is in error the conflict also affects more's family life prof h barrett davis head of the division of speech is directing the production robert billinger 65 will play sir thomas more and frank azzarto 64 has the role of henry viii others in the cast include marilyn mecortnick gilmer mecor mick david watson 65 steven mittman 68 thomas cramer james stevenson 65 donald stever 65 david prostko 68 barbara base well and robert culver 66 the technical staff under the direction of james montgomery 64 is working 16 hours a week on props and scenery for the production the staff's contribution includes new lighting
