the lehigh personages had gone to the tavern in order to per suade the owner that lehigh should get a share of the profits elmer w gluck treasurer of the university explained to the owner that lehigh owned the land on which the tavern stood and therefore some of the profits of the business should find their way into the centennial fund gluck also said that if the owner did not agree with the proposal demoli tion of the tavern would result in order to clear the land for the construction of a new observa tory meanwhile at the bar william r quaski was refused a beer be cause he could not produce an lcb card as means of age identifi cation quaski tried to show his driver's license and draft card as interesting event profs meet at tally-ho the dedication of the new uni versity bordello took place today amid much physical fanfare dr pauly adler resident anat omist lit the red light over the door opening the latest student convenience in a dedicatory speech presi dent louis w darning stated that the opening of the campus bor dello is the university's latest step in creating the well-rounded student he said no expense was spared the facilities are among the most modern in the east he said our staff is experienced and capable housed in the former health center building the bordello is the result of many months of planning it was conceived as a means of ending residence halls affairs last year several students were arrested in vice raids in leonard hall and price house later two maids from taylor were fired for moonlighting the residence halls facilities organized by students were never approved by the university said classy gamble dean of residence fire chief executes 3 69 assessed demerits proof but the tally-ho bartender refused to accept them the pair immediately got into a heated ar gument concerning the pros and cons of age identification quaski who lost then poured a gass of beer on the bartender piston pare and emeritus staff er loath meanwhile had adjourn ed to one of the booths to parti cipate in a friendly game of wales tales one of the student players sur prised to see the pair at the tavern asked them why they were there pare replied that the cli mate of learning should be ex tended to wherever lehigh men are gathered together and that we should never waiver our commit ment to scademic excellence the game continued until loath threw a pitcher of beer at one of the participants who had accused him of a false accusation coach mike coldy another of the lehigh faculty present was asked how lehigh would do against delaware saturday coldy cooly replied what me worry coldy however was later ar rested for throwing passes at many of the girls present in the tavern coldy began throwing footballs at them explaining that he was trying to recruit some good ends for next year's team gluck meanwhile had not suc ceeded in convincing the owner to the proposed agreement and had tried to demolish the tally ho himself stating that he was also an honorary member of the temperance league of bethlehem three seniors a freshman two juniors and six sophomores were assessed university demerits by the disciplinary board last month a senior arts major was suspended for two semesters and given 88 parking tickets for distributing flyers detrimental to the public opinion of university security employees two junior arts-engineers were reprimanded warned and assess ed one disciplinary demerit for relocating the universal testing machine to the third floor of coppee hall two sophomore businessmen were reprimanded given final warning and assessed two uni versity demerits for misconduct strongly tending to bring the good name of lehigh into public disrepute the violation involved the re cent vice raid in mcclintic-mar shall the students had been pre viously warned for removing the paint from taylor hall and gluing it to the education building a senior in the engineering college was sus pended for three semesters he was assessed three disciplinary demerits last year for a similar offense in christmas-saucon a freshman in the arts college was suspended two years for park ing his car next to the library three consecutive times three sophomore engineers were reprimanded warned and assessed four disciplinary demerits for set ting off simultaneously fire alarms in all campus buildings the fire chief executed them for putting sugar in the campus security officer's gas tank a sophomore engineer was repri manded warned and assessed one cube a sixth year undergraduate student was arrested yesterday and charged with conduct unbecoming a lehigh gentleman thomas p perr 63 was apprehended by the campus security patrol after making perverse suggestions to other students in his area of the library rank donhouse captain of the security patrol said perr was apparently not selective he would solicit anyone who struck his fancy or anything perr made his perverted comments to 17 male and female grad uate students five faculty members the drum major for the rutgers marching band 50 members of the skidmore college choir and numer ous lehigh undergraduates donhouse said that perr has been released in the custody of the department of psychology louise — our houseparty sheltermate she can often be found in the u.c louise says that her favorite president was george washington but that was before
