the alliance for progress in terferes with latin america's right to search for a solution of their problems said prof victor man uel valenzuela assistant professor of romance languages in a speech before the spanish club monday the alliance for progress was announced by president kennedy in march of 1961 calling for the expenditure of 20 billion in latin america over the next ten years the aims of this expenditure are to improve the economies of the latin states increase industrializa tion and production of capital see clock page 5 rabbi ben zion bosker will lead the 23rd conference on religion sponsored by the interfaith council on tuesday wednesday and thurs day march 6 7 and 8 rabbi bosker is the spiritual leader of the forest hills jewish center where he has served for over 25 years he is also lecturer in homiletics at the jewish theological seminary of america and editor of the seminary's eternal light radio program he received his doctorate in philosophy at columbia university and was ordained as rabbi at the jewish theological seminary of america dr bosker is also a member of the conference on science philosophy and religion the author of many books and contributor to many religious journals author of pharisaic judaism in transition the legacy of maimonides the wisdom of the talmud the world of the cab balah judaism and modern man food depends on plant research ing the christmas vacation band members have described it as contemporary and exciting daniel molter 62 and grant anderson 62 will also be featured in the concert . molter will play the trumpet solo in the concerto in e flat for trumpet by j w hummel molter performed this work at the 1961 conference of the pennsylvania music educators as sociation anderson as student conductor will direct processional by wall ingford riegger prof jonathan elkus will conduct the other num bers also on the program is george perele'si for band this will be the first eastern per formance of this work four dances from the opera the prodigal son composed by fred erick jacobi and arranged by prof elkus tschaikowsky's march slav and a sousa march will round out the program see reinhart page 5 james p hensley 62 and peter grudin 64 have been chosen as endor's editoi'-in-chief and asso ciate editor respectively for this semester's publication the staff plans to have an issue ready by the end of march and is tentatively planning another issue by the end of the school year an increased amount of art work selected from the works of contributors is planned for forth coming editions all materials should be sent to box 54 in the u.c or given to hensley other officers are john e ka lish 62 assistant editor peter k rein hart 64 business manager h-t group here today see 37 page 4 thirty-seven foreign students will be guests at a reception in the osbourne room of the university center tonight from 5 to 6 p.m the 37 delegates representing 37 nations were selected through national competitions held annually in their respective countries are now touring the country as a part of the 16th annual new york her ald tribune world youth forum tonight the lehigh valley for onmental changes on certain pig ments within the plant itself dr norman continued the pigments translate the changes and act as triggering devices to begin the plant's control mechanisms now the plant is ready to pro duce special hormones that will give it the strength to overcome the changing conditions dr nor see plants page 4 brown and white rhc agrees to assist development program vol 73 — no 31 bethlehem pa friday feb 23 1962 866-0331 would be annually published and perpetual in nature the final decision on this pro gram will be made in late march further information on any of these possibilities is available in the rhc president's suite shubin said this is an area in which no student group has ever entered before it is one of the few ways the students can show appreciation toward the university before they graduate he said rh council ponders dorm rushing plan 3 laboratory equipment for which there are several possibili ties 4 new graduate and undergrad uate residence halls possibilities exist for conference and study room furnishings but plans for these halls are not yet complete enough to allow specific donations 5 endowment fund this could be set up for any specific purpose faculty salaries for example and ?
