department of speech to the president's of fice the communications problem was unresolved as of this morn ing university officials hope to unsnarl the situation through a series of top-level meetings scheduled for today and tomorrow complicating the issue was a widely-circulated belief that uni versity president m d whitakcr vetoed thomas proposed visit on the grounds that the socialist might antagonize lehigh alumni and thus adversely affect current fund drives highly placed administration officials however refuted the charge and insisted that the decision to bar the perennial socialist
