thirty-five awards revelation of class election winners dedication of the 1959 epitome and tapping of omicron delta kappa members will highlight tomorrow's annual flagpole day ceremonies classes will be shortened by 10 minutes to permit the student body to attend the 11:30 a.m flagpole gathering scheduled for the program is the presentation of the epitome to the dedicatee by editor richard bernard 59 the 28 awards are given annually for student leadership scholarship and athletic achievement class election results and tapping by odk the senior honorary are added attractions this year in case of rain the ceremonies will be held in packard lab audi torium according to arcadia vice-president harry mcnally band selections will open the ceremonies followed by an invocation from chaplain raymond fuessle introductory remarks by gen percy l sadler director of athletics will follow the invocation associate dean preston parr will act as master of ceremonies for the rest of the program which in cludes three award classifications twenty-five athletic awards are first on the program the awards including the brown key trophy initiated last year are given for achievement in every sport from football to sailing three art awards will be an nounced presentation of the serv ice awards including both the dean's service award and the ar cadia service award will follow odk tapping will be followed by the announcement of class elections results and the presentation of the senior class cane to the president elect of the class of 1960 by carl schier senior class president the presentation treasurer of the region at its meeting over the weekend at temple univer sity in philadelphia branning as chairman represents more than 40,000 students in 36 schools of the region by virtue of his office he becomes a member of usnsa's national executive com mittee executive planning group for the national student organization both branning and mcnally were opposed by temple university stu dents but won handily brannings job will center about organizing the regions schools for the nsa national convention at the university of illinois in august he will also be responsible for regional con ventions next year the two-day conference was at tended by arcadians richard shul man and john talucci in addition to branning and mcnally keynote speaker for the convention was temple vice-president
