see frosh page 8 the lehigh-lafayette weekend will officially begin this evening with a pep rally scheduled for 7:30 on the lower floor of grace hall during the rally the skit con test winners and the song con test winner will be presented to the public the winners of the skit contest were decided last evening by a faculty board of judges immediately after the pep fete the students will move over to the upper field for the bonfire built by the freshman class this year the fire will have to send its flames to the 62 foot mark in honor of the class of 62 when the fire has burned the freshmen will form a parade dressed in the traditional pajamas and march with their section banners to moravian once there they will serenade the girls and then disperse to find a ride home on saturday from 12 noon till into a cauldron in which his spots will disappear out out damn spot appears on the lawn of alpha tau omega a cat on a hot tin roof of beta theta pi will be heated by an engineer who stokes the fire at the door of the house i'm gonna scrub that leopard see 12 page 3 for the umpteenth straight year coach bill leckonby rates tomor row's anything-can-happen-and-usually-does contest between rock n j guard stanley stoney chagrin falls o and end joe wenzel yonkers n y the scanning of comparative scores would seem to indicate that lafayette is a little stronger both teams edged past delaware by a point lehigh tied gettys burg while the maroon won by a late touchdown against buck nell lafayette won by one more touchdown and the maroon loss to rutgers was small these comparative scores normally mean little and in a rivalry such as lehigh lafayette they mean even less lafayette is mainly a ground team although the leopards have taken to the air at times this year see 11 page 700 freshmen who only know of him by reputation this remarkable show of enthusiasm will be for billy sheridan lehigh s knute rockne of wrestling billy who makes an annual appear ance at the rally coached the wrestling team for 40 years billy who probably embodies the lehigh ideal of sportsmanship and scholarship more than any other man won 13 eastern collegiate wrestling association titles developed 59 eastern collegiate champions five national champions five national aau winners and three wrestlers who competed on olympic teams three years ago billy said he was turned out to pasture it was rough on him the first year but now he's reconciled to just see what goes on you'd be a fool to live in the past he says today at 74 billy is still as interested as always in lehigh his main interest is still there too — wrestling it's in my blood for more than 40 years billy's watched lehigh grow from a school of 500 with packer hall as the only im posing structure to a university with
