daughter of a new jersey industrialist and police com missioner had parked in sayre park at 4:15 a.m after leaving the kappa sigma fraternity house of which lohmeyer is a member after an evening of revelry lohmeyer said we were glad to go to sayre park with its bucolic at mosphere he said he and his date soon fell asleep about six o'clock she awakened me lohmeyer said and told me there was a man standing next to the car loh meyer leaped from the car and began to chase the intruder frick however got in his car and drove away and lohmeyer's date jotted down the license number lohmeyer returned to his ford victoria and soon discovered that the keys were missing from the ignition switch and that his wallet containing 10 had vanished from the back pocket of his pants i coasted the car down to the fail ure of last minute negotiations tuesday night between the lehigh valley district council brother hood of carpenters and joiners and the lehigh valley contractors as sociation the contractors increased a previous wage offer by five cents but it was rejected by the union which stood on its de mand for an increase of 1.25 an hour on its present rate of 52.76 plus 13 cents for welfare and pensions last week the carpenters were of fered an increase of 10 cents an hour now with an additional 20 cents in january that was voted down sun day by the general membership of the union yesterday's offer was for 10 cents now and 25 cents in jan uary negotiators informed john l hunt the contractors bargaining agent that they had been directed to fight for the 1.25 increase originally asked plus fringe benefits william kendrick interna tional representative headed the carpenters negotiating team directly after the meeting the 1,750 members of the union were notified the carpenters are among several building contract unions whose old contracts terminated tuesday juniors encouraged to fill activities card all students who will appear in the senior section of the 1958 epi tome and who will not be on the campus next semester should fill out an activities card in mrs moravec's office as soon as possible failure to do so will mean great inconvenience on the students part and
