fifty-eight sophomores have been notified that they are eligible to file application for admission to the col lege honors program beginning next september completed applications must be returned to the college of arts and scienecs office by monday march 4 a breakdown of the total shows that 37 men in the college of engineering 15 in the arts school 3 in the arts and engin eering curriculum and 3 in the business school achieved a 3:0 average which automatically made them eligible for consid eration by the honors council dr glenn j christensen dean of the college of arts and sciences ex plained that although the total un dergraduate enrollment is the same as when the program was planned three years ago there is a larger percentage of sophomores eligible to apply the cream is getting thicker repetition in relation to the cost of other techniques of waging war atomic bombs are inexpensive the result of turning completely to atomic weapons will be that no na tion will be in a position to wage a major war in any other way in 1903 were incorporated in the window arrangements and the roof fire escapes were erected at the east and west sides of the build ing three departments shared of new classrooms and lab oratories started at the beginning of the second semester early this month and was completed wednes day the new fourth floor addition con tains several large lecture rooms and laboratories the joseph barrell reading room a reference library and offices slight modifications of the old design of the structure built parents invited to musical spring music festival weekend will be an all-university parent's weekend according to paul j franz jr assistant to the presi dent festival weekend is scheduled for april 12 13 and 14 starting with a friday evening perform ance two saturday matinee shows a special dinner at addi tional price an evening show and a sunday concert by the brass and clarinet ensembles the idea of the saturday bullet dinner according to bob groneberg second hungarian arrived on campus last wednesday paul gombar will be staying at the phi delta theta fraternity during his stay at lehigh which ifc officials hope will be longer than that of lajos szabo dean preston parr said yesterday that it can't yet be known for sure whether this is the right person but he sure hopes he is members of the phi delta house say that information they have been able to get from gombar seems to reveal that he is the right person he had three years of physics and mathematics at the univer sity of budapest phi delta theta was chosen to house paul because its cook has an hungarian speaking husband the house also has a pledge attila salamon who speaks hun garian fluently gombar spent a week at bard school in new york which is dedicated to teaching the refu gees english gombar related that the school does practically no good though since the refu gee is with hundreds of hun garian - speaking people and speaks nothing but hungarian see live page 6 rules to dean parr for his comment under the proposed rules hours of the parties will be ex tended possibly until 5 a.m gratto said that the chief prob lem of the later party date is finding
