entitled not to the same kind of education as everybody else but to the kind of education suited to his needs the speaker said this is important both for hap piness of the individual and in the national interest these considera tions require us to rid ourselves of mralional snobbery and pseudo tipfnorraoy he declared president martin d whitaker con ferred the honorary degree of doctor of laws upon distler sixty-four seniors received baccalaureate de grees master's degrees were given to 45 and the doctor of philosophy degree to seven others in his address distler said if we lose the standards of our four-year colleges to cater to students who are not equipped to make use of the opportuni ties they offer we shall not benefit thosje students in the long run and we fijhall be restricting the opportunities thereby we shall be infringing the rights of students capable of getting the full benefit of four years of college in discussing the shortage of trained scientists powers of the nine-man stu dent judiciary committee were de fined last thursday during a con ference with dean wray h cong don the group was selected by arcadia earlier last week from nom inees submitted by the interfrater nity council residence hall council and town council the ulitimate authority in matters of discipline as in all other matters rests with the university's board of trustees he dean told the committee the board has delegated dis ciplinary authority to the presi dent who in turn has delegated his authority to me what i am now proposing is to delegate the authority i
