polls will remain open tomor row and monday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m an increased turnout of voters is expected this year because of efforts of the election committee to introduce candidates to the voters last year it was at first doubtful whether or not a majority of the eligible student body turned out to vote a majority of the eligible voter must vote in order to make the vote on the referendum valid it will noi become effective if less than a ma jority votes seniors are urged tc cast their votes to gain this majority the referendum deals mainly with changing the voting date for arca dia from february to sometime be tween the thanksgiving and christ mas vacations it also prevents freshmen from running for arcadic by making one-half year's residence necessary gilbert e moskowitz arcadia elections committee chairman issued the following statement to help clarify the referendum with voters a lot of men have been arguing against this referendum with the idea that its main point is to pre clude freshmen maliciously and to destroy the representative system this is not the case this proposal is simply one step in the direction of a better-equipped student assemb ly — an experienced group of ad ministrators the two features most instrumental in this are the lame duck amendment and the less than one full semester requirement in creating a lame duck arca dia of three weeks we are saving three weeks of valuable time for the newly-elected members they will use the interim be fore their installation to sit in on meetings learn to expedite meetings through the most will form in taylor for the presenta tions cadet col barton will be assisted by cadet lt col richard c davis cadet lt col richard w granville cadet lt col jay j haltzman ca det lt col francis mcgill finished beginning at 4:30 on the same afternoon this will be the 55th time that the mass in b minor will have been performed in its entirety the 185-voice choir under dr jones's direction will feature four nies and of these 473 309 visited the lehigh campus on the matter of interviews it was found that 5285 have been taken compared with last year's 4943 breaking down the interviews
