next saturday night this game is the first of the two-*game series with our maroon and white rivals from down the river the second game of the se ries will be played at easton on march 10th although every le high-lafayette game is bitter and hotly contested this game bids fair to surpass all plrevious engagements in fight and spirit as both teams are strong about evenly matched and out to win with everything they have ready to be put in the game last year it will be remembered lafayette won both of the games by a small margin of a few points both games being in doubt until the final whistle blew the lehigh team is determined to avenge these defeats and every man on the team is going to put all he has and prob ably a little more into that game lafayette has lost two of her last year's team reeves and lehecka ; their loss has undoubtedly weaken ed the maroon to some extent but nevertheless their line-up looks quite formidable with such a scoring com bination as brennan crate and longacre crate and longacre are two of the fastest forwards in col legiate ranks ; captain longacre has especially distinguished himself in his games this year all three of these players will be remembered from last yealr's games kearney will play one of the guard positions while it is doubtful as to just who will be lafayette's fifth man continued on page four lehigh's line-up will be the intercol legiate championship of the new england states in the big inter collegiate class they met and defeat ed the army squad by the close margin of 14 to 13 the represen tatives who are to be the most fear ed are those of the 115-pound class and the 175-pound class since the lehigh try-outs had not been held and m i t had not sub mitted her team roster when this issue went to press no information is at hand regarding the line-up of either squad at least it will be in teresting to watch the clash in ath letics between the two colleges whose names have so long been linked together in but in years past they have always been hard oppo nents and it is safe to say that they will not let down this year the only recent news of the pittsburgh squad is that they forced the navy team to the limit before losing by a very close score the navy is known to have a squad of champ ionship calibre so it can be seen that lehigh is up against a tough prop osition captaim underwood has be en working his men to the limit since the opening of this term and lias cut down the time and lengthened the distance on several events the plunging event in friday's meet will be handled by captain underwood and regad the veteran of last year child's will probably take care of the diving while harmon the speed king will take care of the sprints several changes are expected in the relay line-up
