day-glo reflecting colors will be in place above the lower grace hall bandstand of stan kenton and his orchestra according to jack pavia 54 chairman of the houseparty decoration committee of the senior class the entire ceiling will be covered with blue and gold checkered drapes creating the effect of a french night club lanterns with metallic light re flecting twirlers golden yellow fabric colored side walls and sexy eight foot painted figures of french dancing girls will complete the desired il lusion of transforming grace hall into the past and the days of — moulin rouge surrounding george sommers and his musicians on the top floor of grace will be decorations consisting of evening blue fabric ceiling drapes illuminated lanterns golden fabric covered side walls and blue pylons these pylons trimmed in gold will have red pon-pon flowers on top more glamorous extra large sized can-can girls will ornate the walls fall houseparty s loveliest the queen of the dance will be se lected at midnight from a group of 12 girls picked by roving red sashed judges throughout the evening three prominent mem bers of the faculty and adminis tration will make the final se lection dave rosenau 54 chairman of the queen's selection committee will present the winner with a trophy and the runnersup of the court with miniature trophies all 12 will be given floral headpieces by the pre liminary judges to signify appoint ment to the finals in an innovation this year the see houseparty page 7 band uses hp theme borrowing the theme moulin rouge from the houseparty dance the lehigh university brown and white band will tell the story of a typical lehigh man's houseparty experiences in music and forma tions at half time the band will fill the usual six-minute show with 16 musical numbers and eight formations the str«y will be told of the coming of the dates the usual period of getting better ac quainted ' when the guys and gals meet the parties and last of all the traditional saturday football game among the numbers to be played are the song from moulin rouge a pretty girl is like a melody and a new up-beat arrangement of three o'clock in the morning the show will be completed with the playing of the silver goblet and the alma mater hallowe'en will be toasted by the musicians in a short performance before the game the band will be for a short time mistaken for the glee club as they render " way down yonder in the cornfields a see band page 4 numbers drawn for seating at bucknell game seating plans committee of arca dia in conjunction with ifc idc town council and the athletic de partment have announced the ticket selling plan for the lehigh-bucknell houseparty game on oct 31 tickets will go on sale at the athletic office on monday at 9:10 p.m to all groups except town groups according to their prior ity number which has been cho sen at a drawing of 30 fraterni ties 30 dormitory sections and 11 town groups this priority number appears in the list be low members of town groups will not purchase their tickets at the athle tic office according to their designat ed priority times but their tickets will be withdrawn for them so that they may get seats corresponding to their priority position in the draw ing on tuesday from 10 a.m to 5 p.m members of town council will place orders for their tickets through see seating page 7 peace and good will between the lehigh and muhlenberg student bodies was assured for another week yesterday by the signing of another peace pact by the heads of the re spective student governments ralph n meerwarth 54 of arcadia and william malkames president of muhlenberg's stu dent council placed their signa tures on the document which states that responsibility for maintaining law and order for disciplining refractory students and for financial reparations rests squarely upon the student governments of the two institu tions "... the minimum penalty for anyone caught doing violence or fe lonious damage on either campus will be payment of damages and in the case of excess vandalism or crime recommendation by the re spective student governments for severe disciplinary action the pact emphasizes that the pro gram must be a positive one to pre vent rowdyism and vandalism on the opponent's campus the pact which has worked well in the past is signed each year sev eral weeks before the lehigh-muh lenberg football game a high point on the schedule of both teams wlrn to air boston u game wlrn will broadcast tonight's game between lehigh and boston university direct from braves field in boston broadcast time will be 8:15 p.m with don schindel dave sidikman and pete grunebaum doing the an nouncing ted dolota will handle the engineering between halves general sports news and scores will be broad cast from the local station the broadcast is being sponsored by howard johnson's in allentown this year will be the first year all of the games with the exception of the house party games are to be broadcast for the games away from home it is necessary for wlrn to lease tele phone lines from the american telephone and telegraph co the boston game will be the first game since 1950 to be broadcast complete their plans for that weekend we are aware that this announcement has come on relatively short notice for various interested student groups franz said we feel that they will welcome our decision to undertake as rapidly as possible the highly deserved recognition of par ents by the university except where plans have been announced by living groups for other events on nov 14 we would appreciate the noon-hour being made available for the university luncheon so that parents may join their sons and meet faculty members be fore the game the opportunity remains for living groups to ar
