a new 500,000 student health center will be erected on the campus soon it was announced recently by pres martin d whitaker a challenge gift of 250,000 has been offered by an anonymous denor to lehigh university to build equip and endow a new student health center if the university will raise a like amount for this pur pose a substantial part of the amount needed to meet the challenge will be rules tightened for af bars campus chest shooting for 5,000 53 goal determination etched on his face joe kryla closes in to cut down co lumbia's max pirner for no gain kryla starred in a losing cause as two pass plays caused lehigh's downfall 14-7 a 5,000 goal has been set up as the figure to shoot for in the 1953 campus chest charity drive which will be conducted from next mon day to saturday oct 10 climaxing the drive will be the charity ball on saturday evening oct 10 in grace hall ; chest authorities hope to soli cit a three-dollar contribution from each student for which he will receive a complimentary , ticket to the charity ball a con tribution of at least one dollar will entitle the donor to receive ' miss america 52 hp queen who is the fairest of them all evelyn margaret ay of ephrata pa miss america of 1954 and 1952 lehigh houseparty queen when miss ay was selected as houseparty queen she was escorted by peter wolle 53 and was a guest at the kappa alpha house the winner of the annual con test at atlantic city stands a statuesque 5 feet 8 inches weighs 132 pounds has a 37 inch bust a 24-inch waist and 36 inch hips see cujt miss america won the coveted ti tle over 51 other girls from 45 states new york city chicago canada hawaii puerto rico and the district of columbia - for her victory iff the weeklong contest miss ay received 50,000 in prizes including a 5,000 scholar ship personal appearance fees an automobile and a special wardrobe when green-eyed miss ay who is studying medical technology and would like to go to india to make use of her knowledge was asked would you give tip your career for marriage she replied marriage is sacred and i would give up a ca reer for the man i love miss ay who was outstand ing in the bathing suit prelim inary earlier won the talent sec tion by reading a poem about a south sea dream home in a sojt lilting voice the girls were also given person ality points at a breakfast ;
