greek weekend saturday marks the first time in many years that two large campus organizations have unified to provide an important campus activity mustard and cheese and the interfraternity council have co operated to supply a full calen dar for those attending the ifc festivities the three dollar admission charge entitles ticketholders to attend sat urday night's performance of the rivals by the dramatic society as well as ifc's monte carlo dance friday night's presentation of the play is not included in the plan starting at 7:30 p.m saturday in broughal junior high school the play will run for an hour and a half the friday night show will begin at 8:30 the joint effort began to take shape last spring at that time mem horizon lighting effects simulat ing dawn sunset and dusk will be achieved at the music festival with colored strip lights installed behind a 97-foot screen electrical director rudolph kuser 111 54 announced today fifty leco and fresnel lights are being installed on three pipes at tached to beams in the grace hall ceiling work on the lighting was started saturday overhead lights in the ceiling were removed in order to hang the support pipes with steel cable five projectors behind the screen will be used to throw slides some 30 slides will be used the central portion of the screen will be used for movies to tie in with the action on the stage one movie an animated cartoon is being produced by the special effects de partment headed by james peter man 54 tickets for the april 17 and 18 show will go on sale march 24 in drown hall a drawing will be held tomorrow to determine living group preferences in the purchase of blocks of beats bankshot . . . gov lafollette here thursday gov philip f lafollette former member of gen douglas mac a rthur's staff in the southwest pacific and three times governor of wiscon sin will speak on a fundamental sound american policy at 8:15 p.m thursday in packard auditorium bers of both organziations met to make initial plans final approval for the venture to be undertaken by the two organizations was gained at the end of last semester j allen bowers instructor of speech and technical director of mustard and cheese has designed a stylized set which will facilitate the rapid change of scenes john wagner 54 stage manager and his crew have completed the finishing touches on the construction of the set and are now setting it up in the school davis new head of pa debaters richard davis 54 was elected president of the pennsylvania state debaters congress saturday at perm state president of delta omicron theta debating honorary he has competed in forensics for three years davis also was chairman of the fair employment practices commission committee at the congress the representatives of 13 colleges approved the fepc bill lawrence collins 53 and george hopkins 54 supported fepc while robert mccormick 56 and james hill 54 opposed it the scholastic ranks released friday showed leonard hall first among the 62 living groups for the fall semester sigma alpha mv placed first among the fraternities and price hall led all the dormitory groups the all-university average was 2.100 which is a slight drop from the previous spring average the all-fraternity average remained above the university with a rating of 2.137 dorm men averaged above the university average but the all non-fraternity rating was slightly be low delta phi and price hall rose to seventh and eighth places respectively from 63rd and 57th last spring sigma alpha mv which was 62nd three years ago now leads the fraternities and is second among all the living groups the seniors had the highest class average for the seventh semester in a row with an average of 2.470 while the class of 56 had the lowest class rating with 1.9366 than third in the team standings perm state took the title with 31 points and cor nell came out of nowhere to place three champions and garner 25 points for second place lehigh had 22 frank bettucei
