winning all eight bouts including four by falls lehigh's powerful wres tling squad chalked up its third straight victory of the season by pasting franklin and marshall col lege 32-0 in grace hall before a near capacity house saturday eve ning the win not only marked the engineers first shutout in four years but also produced the largest brown and white mat score since before the war in handing the diplomats their first loss of the season and their seventh consecutive loss to lehigh since the series began in 1946 lchigh led from the first match the only question seemed whether they could keep f&m's scoring column bare ken faust bill carlisle taped shoulder and all joe comley and werner seel flattened their opponents to highlight the proceedings outside of the victory establish ing coach gerry leeman's aggrega tion as a real threat to penn state's eastern intercollegiate title the meet saw lehigh's one questionable warrior carlisle hampered last year and previously this season with a recurring shoulder injury pull the surprise of the night by pinning his opponent ken kurtz after eight minutes of wrestling carlisle appeared to be in top form despite the fact that he is heavily strapped about the shoulder preventing him from extending his arm normally using a good assort ment of holds he piled up an 8-1 lead on two take downs a reversal and a near fall before the pin jersey on election day others reacted favorably to the petition which asked for absentee ballot privileges for students and businessmen who must be out of the state on election day sen malcolm s forbes has intro duced a bill calling for absentee vot ing rights for voters absent outside the state and more than 50 miles dis tant from the election district in which they reside on the day of the election or who are sick or physical ly disabled forbes estimated that the pro posed measure would extend voting privileges to 125,000 more jersey residents he pointed out that 41 other states have some form of absentee ballot walter h jones a state assembly man has also shown interest in the proposal in a letter to ladew he said you present a problem which deserves legislative action i shall be interested in gov driscoll's pro posals in this connection ladew had mailed letters and the petitions to the governor and six members of the legislature as final examinations draw near dean of students wray h congdon released yesterday a letter of recommendations to students on behalf the committee of discipline the dean's prime concern was for students who fall ill at the time of their examination cau tioning them to report at once to the health service for treatment or medical advice if a student is not well enough to take a final examination he will be given an oppotunity to take a make up examination upon the health service's recommendation dean congdon commented he further stated that if the stu dent takes the final despite his ill ness and does poorly on the exami nation there will be no re-examina tion available to him he will have to stand or fall on whatever the out come of the examination may be congdon warned the dean of students further warned that any cheating on the final exam will be dealt with drastically adding that this generally means suspension having contraband materials in his possession or being in any wayj accessory to another student's cheat 1 ing makes a student similarly liable for drastic disciplinary action the dean said a student's signature on an exami nation paper or book is assumed to guarantee that he has neither given nor received aid on the examination dean congdon explained the proc tor system in final exams this sys tem operates in most cases except fcr small sections of upperclassmen where the instructor at his own dis cretion may put students on their honor after the students have been consulted and all agree to take the examination on the honor system basis this means " said the dean that no student will tolerate a fellow student's cheating any more than he himself would cheat in all other university finals proc toring must be adequate and effect ive regulations require that there see finals page 3 prospective
