cocoa and sandwiches and had a social hour downstairs at six o'clock the usual vesper services were held with j l lees 23 presiding he introduced dr kirby page a prominent y m c a lecturer dr page is a gradu ate of drake university and is now engaged in research work in the central library of new york city he is compiling data on the indus trial situation in the united states for several years he has acted as secretary to dr sherwood eddy dr page has travelled widely both in europe and america and has ob tained a great deal of first-hand in formation about internal conditions dr page's subject for the even ing was rags and riches he stated that in the united states we have extremes of wealth and of poverty and a great deal of misun derstanding results from it the laborers are inclined to manager mitman has ar ranged is complete except for an other game with moravian which will take place at liberty high school in the near future if possible coach baldwin is well pleased with the team cided was that all members of the football squad who took part in the lafayette game are to receive a gold football in addition to their letter the men who are to receive their football letter and a greer 25 and merrill 26 carlisle 23 and bessemer 23 re ceived their letter and shragger 23 received a certificate in recognition of four years of service on the squad the committee decided upon bil ly burkhardt as trainer for the yrps+ijncr squad 1 tid baseball team luring the coming seasons mr burkhardt was traimer for lehigh's football squad during the past season prof 80 y reiter announced that he had sent a letter of thanks to the business men of south beth lehem who donated to the football squad fifteen blanklets before the lafayette game due to a great many more mat ters to be gone over which had not yet come up and time being late it was decided that the committee would adjourn for the present and meet this week again at which time all unsettled business would be gone over soccermen preparing for lafayette game on saturday afternoon on the upper field while the varsity soc cermen were trying to sink the navy at annapolis the scrubs en gaged in a fast game with the wan derers fighting against superior ability the whole time the reserves went down to an honorable defeat by the score of 6to 1 the wan derers are a local industrial team of the lehigh valley soccer league and a few weeks previous showed their ability by defeating the varsi ty three goals to none im a hard fought game the wanderers showed their su periority from the start and at the end of the first half were on the long end of a4to 1 score never theless the contest was hard fought and the lehigh men although out played fought hard to keep down the score and muirhead the clever brown and white first there was a section drill conducted by the pla toon sergeants then there was a platoon drill by the lieutenants and finally there was company drill by the respective captains everything went off husband father and husband have disagreed and 1 make up again ; but that is not the story the preacher has a girl stenographer and an admiring cu rate ; they clash ; but that also is not the story the social reformer preacher has brought home a young poet who has now fallen in love with candida and cannot see any possible bond of sympathy between the husband and wife that is at least the will commence with a meeting of all competitors in the broivn and white room in drown hall to morrow afternoon at 4 o'clock all sophomores are eligible for the business staff and the three posi tions
