Lehigh improved to 9-1 on the season and 4-1 in the Patriot League in front of 3,849 fans at Christy Mathewson Stadium. Lehigh did not get off to a good start. Bucknell was able to move the ball early and capitalize on a fumble by Phil Stambaugh in the first quarter. The Bison actually led the Mountain Hawks 14-3 in the first quarter before the "Ronald Jean Show" began for Lehigh. Senior Ronald Jean was determined to improve on his sub-par performance from a week ago. He struck first on special teams. After Bucknell's Jason Marrow went in for a touchdown on a 2- yard run, Jean took the ensuing kickoff 95-yards for a score to put Lehigh within four points going into the second quarter. Lehigh struck again early in the second quarter as Jean just kept on running. This time he scored on a 9-yard touchdown run that put the Mountain Hawks up 17-14. Jean and Marrow would continue to exchange touchdowns as Jason Marrow went in for his second touchdown of the game, this time on a 1-yard run. Jean* followed with a 40-yard pass reception from Phil Stambaugh to put Lehigh up 24-20 at the half. Marrow stuck first in the second half on a 2-yard run with 9:09 left in the third quarter to put Bucknell up 27-24. Jean would not be outdone. He put Lehigh back on top with a 2-yard run of his own with 3:45 left in the third quarter. Bucknell would then begin to make the first of two costly mistakes late in the game. On fourth down, the Bison attempted a fake punt that backfired on them giving Lehigh excellent field position.
