Photo by JOE RYAN Men's cross country wins, women's soccer ties, as two of four Lehigh-Lafayette matchups this weekend By ROB SCHMIDT South Mountaineer Editor Not only was there the best of times and the worst of times this weekend versus Lafayette, but there was even a time of indifference as Lehigh teams picked up a win, two losses, and a tie. The cross country teams kicked off the competitions on Saturday morning, splitting with the Leopards. The women's race went off first and saw Lafayette runners finish 1, 2, and 3. Sue Allex was the top Engineer placer, finishing fourth, followed by Michelle Dippolito who.was fifth. Lafayette claimed the next two spots, while Engineers Stacy Imler, Jen Middleton, and Alicia Stanfill came in eighth, ninth and tenth. The 'pards came away with a 19-36 victory. The men's run was much closer. The race was decided when Matt Rosetti blew past Lafayette's Ryan Hefferman on the final stretch to take seventh place. The Engineers had already grabbed the second, third, and fourth spots thanks to Nick Albrecht, Rob Christie, and Matt Van Lierop. Lafayette's Clay Lodovice had won the race, while two Leopards crossed the finish Lehigh sticks it to Siena and Fairfield Senior Liz Brode assisted the field hockey team to its eighth victory on Saturday.
