Coach Annette Lynch's team downed Millersville, 72-65, Lafayette, 57-54, and Rider, 59-57. In the big one over Lafayette the winners rushed to a 33-29 halftime lead by fast-breaking the Leopards over the final 8% minutes of the half and out- scoring them 19-4. Lafayette recovered, pulled into a tie at 43, but Lehigh once again moved out front. Mary Zdrofcoff, of Allentown, Pa., had two crucial rebounds and two key foul conversions in the final minute. She led the winners with 14 points. Karen Lelinski, of Levittown, Pa., collected 19 rebounds and had nine points. Halftime: Lehigh 3319. and No. 87 as the Engineers coasted past Cornell, 46-0, and Syracuse, 29-10, to end their 28th consecutive winning campaign with 12 victories and only two losses. The 46-point margin over the Big Red, at Stabler Center, was Lehigh's largest margin of victory ever in a dual meet. The Easterns begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, with Lehigh a favorite to turn back 15 rival EIWA members by a wide margin. In bouts against EIWA opponents this winter the probable tournament starters for the Brown and White have a 45-5-2 advantage. Two of those setbacks came Saturday at Syracuse as Impounder Rich Santoro of Bethlehem, Pa., and heavyweight Drew Keiser of Sinking Spring, Pa., were surprise losers. Santoro was upset 9-6 by fellow freshman Dale Mills of the Orange, yielding three points on a near-fall late in the bout. Keiser lost 7-3 to Syracuse heavyweight Brian Heffernan. Mills' older brother, Gene, is an EIWA and NCAA champion sitting out the season. Heffernan won for only the ninth time in 17 decisions. Brown, who had tied Mike Frick's career victory mark of 86 with a 17-4 rout of Cornell's Mike Pietrowski, made Steve Rosa of Syracuse his 87th—and record- setting—victim, 6-1. Frick had an 86-9-4 mark from 1973 through 1976. Brown is 87-10. Other double winners last week were 126-pounder Steve (Continued on Page 2) LEHIGH 46, CORNELL 0 118—Rich Santoro, L, dec.
