Remarkable Mark's weekend at a glance- He became the first man since 1908 to win four EIWA titles. George Dole of Yale did the trick 71 years ago during the first four years of the tournament and no one had equalled that achievement; He became the first man to sweep all three EIWA tourney major individual awards, being voted Most Outstanding Wrestler, taking the Sheridan Trophy for most falls with four in as many appearances and the Fletcher Trophy for most points accumulated for his team in EIWA tourney tests with a record total of 89. The 177-pound NCAA champ also was the first to win the Sheridan Trophy more than once, having taken it first in 1975. This year he was on the mat only 9:48 to win four times; He became the top pinner in Lehigh history with a total of 40 in four years, topping a mark of 37 set by NCAA two-time champion Eddie Eichelberger in three seasons during which he had a 55-3-1 record. Mark is 80-6 with four of those losses coming as a freshman and he has won his last 42 bouts in a row; He became Lehigh's No. 1 pinner in EIWA history with a dozen falls in tournament bouts while posting a 16-0 mark. He shared the old record of eight with Eichelberger and another NCAA champ, Kirk Pendleton. His 16 tourney victories ties a Lehigh standard set by Don McCorkel who was 16-2 in tournament competition. No wonder the 1979 event will be referred to as the Lieberman Easterns. While all this was going on the remainder of the Lehigh team was faring well, too, with 190- (Continued on Page 2) -l-Craig Blackman of F&M, selected by coaches as EIWA "wild card" entry into NCAA Tournament. -r-Bill Amelio of Lehigh, qualifies for NCAA Tournament following withdrawal of Navy's Nick Mygas.
