(Continued on Page 2) Crosscountry Squad Hikes Streak To 39 Wayne Rogers of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Jim Barnes of Denville, N.J., Dave Cope of Fogelsville, Pa., and John Woynarowski of Reading, Pa., settled for a first-place tie Friday as Lehigh opened its cross country season blanking Delaware, 15-47, and Rider, 15-50, on the Saucon Valley Fields. Coach John Covert's harriers ran their Middle Atlantic Conference winning streak to 39 with the double triumph. They haven't lost a conference meet since 1967. Co-captains Rogers and Barnes joined Cope and Woynarowski in covering the 5-mile route in 25 minutes and 43 seconds. Nine other Engineers placed in the top 15. Saturday (Sept. 29) the Lehigh runners go to Philadelphia for a triangular against Pennsylvania and LaSalle at 11 a.m. The summary: 1. Rogers (L), Barnes (L), Cope (L), Woynarowski (L) and Michael (L) tied, 25:43; 6. Whaley (D); 7. Thoren (L) and Faraci (L); 9. Hunt (D); 10. Stroiny (D); 11. Pasquini (L); 12. Yardis (L); 13. Reed (D); 14. Zinny (D); 15. Lowman (D). Hens Seek Revenge Delaware's defending college division national champions bring a 17-game winning streak to Taylor Stadium Saturday (Sept. 29). Three of those triumphs came this season, 45-24 over Akron, 49-14 over West Chester and 60-18 over Gettysburg. The Blue Hens haven't lost to a college division rival since their last Taylor Stadium invasion in 1970 when Lehigh turned in a 36- 13 shocker. They also bowed to Villanova that season, 34-31. In 1971 they lost only to Temple, 32- 27, and last year they were 10-0. The Lehigh Club of Delaware is planning a bus trip for the game with Hal Yeich, former Engineer fullback star, in charge of arrangements.
