For the first time ever, each student will have his or her own individual mailbox, which will solve a long-standing student complaint. The USC includes a deli-bar, Subversions, which will sell sandwiches, gourmet coffee and pastries. A map of the new facility is on page 4. Stop by to check out the view from the roof terrace overlooking Taylor Street! photos by John Kish IV Lee Lacocca tells students to get involved Alumnus Lee lacocca met with the 12 new lacocca student scholars Nov. 1 while he was on campus for the lacocca Institute advisory board meeting. He offered a few words of wisdom to the students during the luncheon. "I've learned that the only way to change something is to get involved," said lacocca. "But today, young people must make a difference. Sixty or 70-year-olds aren't going to do it. So start Tuesday (Nov. 8) and vote, and get involved. Do yourselves and your parents proud. "I heard this morning that you are the prototypes for what Lehigh would like to give each student — a special experience during their four years," he added. "The first class (of scholars) had summer internships that were quite diverse, and that's the way it should be. That's what a university is." The new student scholars are juniors from all three undergraduate colleges. They join the 10 seniors who were selected last year. The scholars meet frequently as a group and individually with an assigned faculty mentor to work on an independent project relating to the student's interest and field of study.
