The committee apparently feels Lehigh is ready for the big time. On Sunday, it announced Lehigh would open the 1988 NCAA tournament the same way the Brown and White opened the 1985 toumey — against the nation's top-ranked basketball team. On Friday night, at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Conn., Lehigh will play the Temple Owls, a team that has lost just once in 30 games this season. The announcement on national TV sobered the euphoria that began when Lehigh beat Towson State on March 8 to win its second East Coast Conference championship in four years. And it left the two most celebrated players in Lehigh basketball history just five days to prepare for what most armchair pundits feel will be their last game together. But don't count Daren Queenan and Michael Polaha out yet. "We'll give them a good game," said Polaha, the Most Valuable Player in the ECC tournament. "I know we'll play to win.
