Please See Story Page 4 > Upperclass Parents Weekend More Than 2,500 Expected For Activities More than 2,500 people are expected to participate in activities during Upperclass Parents Weekend at Lehigh University on November 7-8. The weekend's events will begin Saturday morning with a "Meet-the-Faculty Coffee Hour" in the Asa Packer Room in the University Center, followed by a buffet luncheon in Grace Hall and the Lehigh-Brown football game. The annual Parents Day Concert, featuring the Lehigh Choir, Choral Union, and LUVME, the Lehigh University Very Modern Ensemble, will be held at Broughal Middle School (Brodhead and Packer Aves.) at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night. The concert will feature Stravinsky's "Symphony of Psalms" and works by Lehigh faculty members Steven Sametz and Paul Salerni. The special activities will conclude with an ecumenical service on Sunday morning in Packer Chapel, featuring the Rev. Hubert L. Flesher, University chaplain, and the Lehigh Choir. Music At Lehigh Concert To Be Featured Music at Lehigh will present its annual Parents Day concert on Saturday, November 7 at 8:15 p.m. in Broughal Middle School (on the comer of Brodhead and Packer Aves.). It will feature the University Choir, Choral Union, and LUVME, the Lehigh University Very Modern Ensemble. The concert is open to the public. The program will include "Birthing Suite" by Paul Salerni, "cent fois plus ombre" by Steven Sametz, "Nunc Dimittis" by John Harbison and Igor Stravinsky's "Symphony of Psalms." The pieces by Salerni and Sametz were premiered during the Centennial Celebration of Packer Chapel (Oct. 11). Salerni is chairman of the music depart ment at Lehigh and Sametz is associate professor of music at the University. "Birthing Suite" is based on Salemi's experience in the labor and delivery room during the birth of his first child, Domenic Robert, on July 4 (1987). The six movements describe the event from the ride to the hospital through labor to the moment of birth, and end with the first tender Continued On Page 4 Football Tickets For Lehigh- Lafayette Game Sold Out Lehigh's athletic ticket office has sold its entire allotment of tickets for the Lehigh - Lafayette football game, Nov. 21 at Taylor Stadium. The game will be the 123rd meeting in college football's most-played rivalry, and will be the final game played in historic Taylor Stadium, one of the nation's oldest collegiate football venues. The stadium has served as home to Lehigh teams since 1914. Parking in Alumni Memorial Building Lot Now For Visitors In order to properly serve visitors, our invited guests, the entire lower portion of the lot adjacent to the Alumni Memorial Building has been reserved for visitors. A large informational sign to this effect has been placed at the entrance to this lot in addition to several smaller signs at the parking spaces. As a courteousy to our visitors, we ask all faculty and staff not to park in this area.
